Tyler Congressman Louie Gohmert (R-TX) Friday unveiled what he calls his innovative "Patient-Controlled Healthcare Protection" plan. Gohmert says it "provides true healthcare reform and brings care back to a personalized, humanized doctor-patient relationship." Gohmert says his proposal provides everyone in America with a personal Health Savings Account (HSA) that allows people to control their healthcare decisions and determine their healthcare spending.

According to the congressman, senior citizens, as all Americans, will have better coverage and complete control of their healthcare. The plan also provides catastrophic insurance to guarantee protection against costs over the amount of the HSA. Gohmert says the proposal provides patients access to the treatment they need, when they need it, with the doctor of their choosing, at a price that is affordable and covered.
